¶Wolff 1366 is in reddish-brown cloth. The title story is a sensational tale of secret marriage and murder plots, allegedly inspired by the experience of Collins's friend, Edward Ward, whose marriage to an underage girl was largely facilitated by Collins. The final tale "The Fatal Cradle", about babies swapped at birth, is an intriguing, rather distressing, study of economic dynasty.
