¶Miscellaneous pieces brought together for the benefit of the family of the publisher John Macrone, who died unexpectedly in 1837 at the age of 28. Dickens contributed the introductory remarks, as well as a short story, 'The Lamplighter's Story', adapted from his play The Lamplighter.
