Half titles. Orig. smooth green cloth, front boards lettered in blind, spines with lettering reversed out of gilt; spines v. sl. darkened, sl. rubbing to extremities. A good-plus copy of an uncommon title.

¶Sadleir 1915; Wolff 5320. Following the fortunes Folles-Farine, an orphaned girl in provincial France who becomes a great beauty and, though pure and innocent, is much coveted by an array of unsavoury and lascivious men. It was highly praised by Bulwer Lytton in the year of his death.
