¶Davidson's final book, published just before he drowned himself off the coast at Penzance. The troubled mental state which led to his suicide is clear in the dark preface of this volume: 'The time has come to make an end. There are several motives... Men are the Universe become conscious; the simplest man should consider himself too great to be called after any name.' He had been struggling with debt and various health issues, but a cancer diagnosis was probably the final straw.
