¶Copac lists one 1877 Boston edition. Charles Follen Adams, 1842-1918, was an American poet; he joined the 13th Massachusetts Infantry during the American Civil War, was injured at the Battle of Gettysburg and subsequently taken prisoner by the Confederate army. This volume of humorous poetry, which is written in a burlesque broken-English parody of the Pennsylvania German Dialect, includes the poems To Bary Jade, Der Drummer, Intemperance, The Soldier's Grave, and many others.
