Charles Henry Felix Routh, 1822-1909, a leading gynaecologist and obstetrician who practised for many years in London at the famous Samaritan Free Hospital for Women. He co-founded the Obstetrical Society of London, and was an early advocate of the examination and registration of midwives. He wrote numerous papers on female reproductive health, of which we are able to offer a selection.
