¶The first edition was published by Milner in 1839; this edition recorded at York Minster Library only. A compelling collection of experiments and tricks to delight every schoolboy: inhaling laughing gas, artificial earthquake, magical explosion, dancing balls, a portable diorama, light produced by sugar, magical properties of figures, a five pound note all in flame without burning it, culminating in the art of making fireworks.
